Name - Mrs. Maud Williams
Position - Housekeeper
Dates of employment - c. 1930s - 1940s.

Maud Williams started as an under-housemaid at Tredegar, being paid £10 a year, and saw three generations of the Morgan Family. According to her sister, who was housekeeper to Lord Melville, Maud let the position down because she was too easy on her staff. Instead of ordering her food, as did the family, she ate the same food as the rest of the staff.
In her spare time she would do crosswords and reading, but her main passion was broderie anglaise - a beautiful petticoat still survives.
She was friends with Mrs Sayzeland, the wife of Lord Tredegar's valet, and often used to have tea and spend evenings with her.
