Dates of employment - early 20th c.

Remembered as 'Old Sayzeland', he was the valet to Courtenay Morgan, and later his companion when Courtenay was blind. He began working for Courtenay in Hampstead around 1900, after replying to a newspaper advertisement. He worked his way up to valet and moved to Tredegar House in 1913, when Courtenay became Lord Tredegar.Click for full image
He travelled all over the world with Courtenay on his yacht, 'The Liberty', and served on it when it was a hospital ship in the First World War.
He as an excellent gardener, and was known for his rhubarb wine. He would feed the rhubard with cut grass from the cricket pitch, which the Coalman Alan Rees would bring him.
