Postion - 4th / 5th housemaid
Dates of employment - 1913-15

Born at Coedkernew, Lillian was the daughter of a groom who died age 30, leaving wife and 3 young children. Lord Tredegar allowed the family to remain in the estate cottage in which they lived, and every Christmas gave them a ton of coal, some wood and a Welsh blanket.
Lillian was one of the first locals to be employed at Tredegar, as most staffusually came from London. As 5th Housemaid, she cleaned grates, laid fires and waited on other housemaids, as well as making beds and dusting.Click for full image
On several occasions, Lillian was named 'Belle of the Ball' at the Servants' Ball, and was presented to Lord Tredegar.
During the war, when the house was very quiet, Lillian became bored, and left the house to work for the Post Office.
