Name - Robert Blake
Position - Footman
Dates of employment - c.1928

Along with his brother Ted, Robert was charged with the daily cleaning of silver, even when Lord Tredegar was away. If it was raining, they would be entertained by Evan Morgan's parrot, Blue Boy, who would sit in the window swearing and cursing.
Robert and Ted wore black suits in the morning and tailcoats in the evening. If there were more than 6 guests, however, they would dress in yellow waistcoats and black britches, with buckled shoes and white stockings. They could not bear wearing it, and would not let the girls see them if they could help it!
