Position - Hall Boy
Dates of employment - early 20th c.

Harry Collins worked as the Hall Boy in the early 20th century, and was about 60 years old in the 1920s. The Hall Boy was essentially a servant to the servants, and was responsible for laying dinner in the Servants' hall, and cleaning the cutlery and crockery afterwards. He also had a key to the servant's beer cellar, and gave out a quart of beer to each servant every day. Although he had as much beer as he liked from the cellars, each year when Mr C. A. Barrett made his mulberry wine, Harry would stand ouside until he was invited in for a drink, even if it was raining!
Collins died at Tredegar House, after being ill for some time.
